WORLD WATER DAY

World Water Day is celebrated annually on March 22 as a means to focus attention on the importance of water and the defense of sustainable management of water resources. The United Nations General Assembly designated March 22, 1993 as the first World Water Day, after its celebration was approved at the United Nations Conference on the Environment and Development (CNUMAD) in 1992.

At this time when the authorities are asking the population to take extreme hygiene measures by washing their hands continuously, millions of people around the world are experiencing an water emergency that leads them to hunger and the spread of disease.

One in three people do not have drinking water in the world and, every day, around 1,000 children die from diarrheal diseases associated with the lack of drinking-suitable water.

Increasingly prolonged droughts in moles African countries bring the population to the brink of food emergency.

The commitment of the Kassumay Foundation has led us to the construction and implementation of wells in all the orchards that we have installed and that supply women who work there for both watering and family consumption.
