INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS DAY 2022
One more year we arrive on December 10th and celebrate the international day of Human Rights. Rights purportedly established by the international community to protect individuals, communities and populations from abuse, violence, outrage, submissions and annulment of dignity.
But in fact we don't celebrate it by any means. Once again this year, indicators of respect for these rights and the involvement of states as guarantors of their compliance tell us that we are taking steps backwards. At the same time that we reach the highest levels of technology, medical advances, scientific knowledge, technical capabilities and access to (dis)information, we are not able to change the dynamics that dehumanize, the exercises of subjection of some people for others, the power to decide what a life is worth, the lack of empathy that degrades the other, the denial of the free movement of people, the prohibition of expressing freely, the fear inoculated in a premeditated way against difference, the shameless rejection of the most disadvantaged...

We would like to talk about human values that would give meaning to this differential feature of people, values that would be the foundation of rights and at the same time the result of the rights that would drive them. We would like to celebrate this day as the milestone achieved by humanized and fraternal societies.
We know for sure that there are people, entities, groups and communities everywhere who work selflessly to reverse the situation, making this sick world a more bearable and friendly space where we can still draw smiles.
From the Kassumay Foundation, as we tell you year after year and despite everything, without naivety and with coherence, we will continue to focus on our closest environment and also around the world, the respect and fulfillment of these.
