UNIVERSAL CHILDREN'S DAY 2021
The Convention on the Rights of children is included in the Convention on the Rights of Children and it was 20 November 1989 when it was approved as an international treaty on human rights.
It is currently recognized worldwide, except for the United States of North America.
The Convention on the Rights of the Child was passed as a law in 1990.
The Convention, throughout the 54 articles, recognizes that children (human beings under 18 years of age) are individuals with the right to full physical, mental and social development, with the right to freely express their opinions.
Although the rights of children are included in this Assembly, they are violated every day. The abuse of adult power in the family, institutional and social spheres means that they are in situations of labour exploitation, prostitution, sales, used for war and other atrocities committed with children in different countries of the world. Child abuse, or not offering adequate care, must be looked at beyond ethical commitment. It is a citizen's duty to improve their lives and an obligation of the political, social and professional sectors.
G20 assemblies, climate assemblies, the EEC, Latin America and many others are held. Wouldn't it also be necessary for the G20, to give an example, to deal with how to prevent abuse of children and improve their living conditions? So little will serve so many climatic, pandemic or economic measures, if these children abused or not adequately cared for, when they are older, they will not be in physical or mental conditions to create a better world.
